Get rid of the stump, not just the tree

A stump left in the ground gets in the way of everything: mowing, planting, paving, a new path, a foundation or a pool. Some species, including olive and fig, also sprout again from the base year after year. The reliable fix is to take out the stump together with its main roots.

We do this with a mini excavator, which works around the stump, loosens the roots and lifts it out, leaving a hole that we fill and level. It is faster and cleaner than digging by hand, and small enough to reach gardens, terraces and yards.

How the job works

1. Locate and check

   We look at where the stumps are, the soil, and any pipes, cables or walls nearby.

2. Dig out

   The excavator loosens the roots and lifts the stump out. Big roots are followed until the stump is free.

3. Fill and level

   The hole is backfilled with soil or fill and levelled to match the ground.

4. Remove the waste

   Stumps and roots go on the trailer, or are stacked where you want them.
