The right material in the right place
Many jobs need material moved: crushed stone for a driveway or track, gravel around a pool, sand for pipe bedding, topsoil for a garden, fill to raise a low area. Getting it delivered is one thing; getting it spread evenly and compacted is what makes it last.
We move and spread material with tractor, trailer and mini excavator, including places a delivery lorry cannot go, then level and compact it so it does not settle or wash away. Delivery of gravel, sand and soil can be arranged, and we will tell you what is available when you message us.
Different jobs need different material: a road base is not the same as decorative gravel, and clean granular fill is not the same as topsoil or building rubble. If you are not sure, we suggest what suits the job. See road and track opening and pool backfilling for typical uses.

Material matters
Fine soil and clay hold water and turn to mud; clean crushed stone drains and stays firm. Use topsoil only where you want to plant. If you are unsure how much you need, send us the area and the depth you want and we will work it out. Drainage matters as much as material, see drainage.

Do you supply the gravel and soil?
We can arrange delivery of common materials. Message us what you need and we will confirm what is available and the price.
How much material do I need?
Multiply the area by the thickness. For example, 100 square metres at 10 centimetres deep is 10 cubic metres. We can help you work it out.
Can you get material to a place lorries cannot reach?
Yes, that is what the tractor and trailer are for.
Do you compact it?
Yes, in layers, so the surface does not settle.
